The “VSL” league spring 2020 (Vermont Soccer League)

Every spring, CYSC organizes boys and girls soccer teams to participate in the Vermont Soccer Association Spring soccer league. The league has 3 divisions to allow for “club” team competition as well as “town” team competition. We enter teams at the following age levels in the “town” divisions: U8-U12.

Teams from Colchester play home and away games against teams from OTHER TOWNS in Vermont in a more competitive league than in the Colchester-only fall recreation league.

This league is designed for more competitive players who want to elevate their game. Teams travel in and beyond Chittenden County to play other club teams in places like Hinesburg, Derby, Middlebury, Waitsfield, etc.

The CYSC club directors build rosters. Coaches then enter players for Session III of the Nordic Indoor Soccer League or player register for Session III of Nordic Saturday Training if a league is not available as a kickoff to the season. **This is an extra fee beyond VSL registration**

As the weather improves and the snow melts, we take our training outdoors and begin playing official VSL games in May. Teams play anywhere from 5 to 9 league games, weekend "friendlies" and local tournaments. The season wraps up in late June/early July with the Target Cup at Essex Tree Farm.

Teams may also choose to take part in various local tournaments such as Essex United Tournament and Nordic Cup. These tournaments may extend the season into late July. Please discuss participation in these tournaments with your coach.
