SPRING VERMONT SOCCER LEAGUE OVERVIEW
Every year, CYSC organizes boys and girls soccer teams to participate in the Spring Vermont Soccer League (VSL) operated by the Vermont Soccer Association (VSA). The league has three divisions with varying levels of competitiveness. CYSC enters a variety of teams, based on interest, in the U8-U12 age groups.
This league is designed for more competitive players who want to elevate their game. The CYSC club directors build team rosters. Teams will play home and away games. Home games are at Airport Park. Away games take place generally around northern Vermont. VSA tries to keep travel to 45 minutes or less for each away game.
Spring VSL games typically begin in early May. Teams begin practicing in late April once Airport Park is opened. Teams generally play 6-7 league games. In addition, coaches may setup "friendlies" participate in local tournaments. The season wraps up in late June/early July with the Vermont Soccer Festival (formerly the Target Cup) at the Essex Tree Farm soccer facility.
There is a fee for each player. The fee includes a uniform (if you didn't play in the fall), soccer ball, and participation in the Spring Vermont Soccer League (VSL) and the Vermont Soccer Festival. Any additional tournaments will be an additional fee.
